RiverCrafters Team on Etsy

River of Mars IVI

I found a team on Etsy last week called River Crafters.  The members are from this local Ohio River Valley area, consisting of metro Louisville and southern Indiana.  So I had to inquire about membership and check out their stores.  One that intrigued me was ElizDWire  She has an assortment of River of Mars pendants.  The IV was my favorite, as you can see on the left. I love the small teardrop in the center. The piece looks so natural and organic, as if you just picked it up off the beach.  All the texture adds depth and makes the piece so interesting.  Eye-catching.

You can definitely find others in this line of designs at her website.  Besides jewelry, she also has some lovely felted bags and pouches, along with artistic, dyed feathers, known as saddle hackle feathers.  If you want to add whimsy or nature to one of your designs, you might be intested in checking them out.

Water Cast

Keeping with her nature-theme in many designs, she also has an incredible water-casted polyp.  This one is very very large. Many times Water Cast Pendants are small or just turn into blobs of metal.  But this one has character and beauty.  You never know what you will get with water casts, but her technique is incredible.  Check out this water cast polyp in her store.  Look at the intricate design in the interior, with small baubles of metal inside curls of metal.  This is a beautiful piece.  Any one wearing it is sure to attract attention with such a unique piece.

Starry Night

Another pendant in her store is one she called Starry Night.  She took a sterling silver disc and stamped it with stars in a random pattern.  Then she added just the touch of gold leaf, using a process of heat and pressure, known as Keum Bu.  That created a flash, reminding me of a shooting star falling from the sky.  She added a patina to accentuate the stars in the design.  I love the piece and its simple beauty.

I hope you enjoy this review of another designer.  Follow my blog to hear about more designers and stores in upcoming posts.   HPH7TV4EYCYY
